THE MAJOR SCALE

Now comes the fun part, actually getting to play. Before we get into chords lets go over the major scale again. If you remember correctly the major scale is as follows:

Major Scale = Whole, whole, half, whole, whole, whole, half

Half = Distance between a fret and the next

Whole= two ½ steps or the distance between two frets

Now that we know this we can go ahead and play a scale. First, pluck a string without holding down on any fret, this becomes your first note of the scale or root note. Then you will follow the major scale pattern.
